Canterbury-Bankstown FC emerged victorious in a home clash against Dulwich Hill to snap their ten-game winless streak.

The Berries defeated their opponents in a tight 1-0 game at their home ground of Jensen Park on Saturday, ensuring their first win in the Football NSW State League One competition since May.

The game was hard-fought with the hosts finding what proved to be the winner early into the second half.

The goal came from a corner set piece in the 50th minute, delivered by John Fotopoulos, which saw the ball reach Finley Hayhurst, who headed it back towards the middle for teammate Gian Fiorese to head into the net.

Goalkeeper Stevan Savicic earned the honour of man of the match, doing well throughout the game to ensure the Berries of a clean sheet and eventually the three points.

The win helped the Berries climb into 11th place with 30 points, overtaking their opponents in the process.

The victory sets the tone for the Bankstown club ahead of the final five rounds as they look to finish the season on a high note.
