The pair qualified to the event after having won the preliminary competition held in Athens in the spring.

It was a great moment for the duo, who have become good friends despite being geographically separated by 500 kilometres.

Eleni (a student from Thessaloniki) and Kyriaki (a student from Athens) met three years ago through digital Zoom classrooms in the scholarship classes of the ExpertIN computer learning school based in Kavala.

People from 140 countries around the world are eligible to participate, highlighting the scale of the challenge in finishing in the top two places as Eleni and Kyriaki did.
