Westvale Olympic are making waves, climbing to fourth in the standings after a cracking 3-1 away win at Ballarat City. The Greek Australian side from the western suburbs have their tails up and will look to keep the momentum going when they host Westgate this weekend.

State League 1 – North-West

Western Suburbs battled to a 2-2 draw away at Brimbank Stallions. Panellinios will fancy their chances as they welcome Corio to their patch for Round 18.

Clifton Hill couldn’t hold off the might of Westgate, going down 2-1 and slipping to ninth in the table. The Hill will look to bounce back when they travel to Sydenham Park this weekend.

It’s grim reading for historic Doxa, who are staring down the barrel of relegation to State League 2. A 3-2 loss to Keilor Park has left Yarraville rooted in the drop zone, and a tough trip to Brimbank Stallions awaits this week.

State League 1 – South-East

Malvern City are an unstoppable force at the top of the South-East group. Their latest victims, Beaumaris, were dispatched 1-0, keeping City firmly in the driver’s seat for VPL2 promotion. This weekend, they’ll face a stern test away at the always-dangerous Doveton.

Bayside Argonauts were in scintillating form, putting six past a hapless Mazenod. The Greek Australian outfit are steaming towards a third consecutive promotion and will head into the “blue and white” derby against South Springvale’s Aris with confidence.

Aris, meanwhile, head into the derby a bit wobbly after a 1-1 draw at home to Collingwood City. They’ll need to dig deep to match the rampant Argonauts in Springvale.

State League 2 – North-West

No winner emerged from the Greek Australian derby between Mill Park and Altona East Phoenix, with the sides locked at 0-0 after a fierce 90-minute battle. Both teams will feel they left points on the table. This week, PAOK host Craigieburn City, while Mill Park welcome Uni Hill Eagles.

State League 2 – South-East

Chisholm United’s slide continues after a 1-0 home defeat to Peninsula Strikers, leaving the Oakleigh side languishing in eighth. They face a tough trip to Casey Comets this week.

Bentleigh United Cobras were stung at home, thumped 3-0 by Mooroolbark. The Cobras will look to regroup when they travel to North Caulfield for their next fixture.

State League 3 – South-East

Waverley Wanderers are breathing down the neck of the leaders after a solid 2-0 win over Hampton Park United Sparrows. The “Yellow and Black” will aim to keep the pressure on when they visit Elwood City this weekend.

State League 4 – East

East Kew’s Olympiakos fought hard but fell 3-2 at home to Riversdale. The “Red and Whites” will look to get back on track when they travel to Knox United for Round 18.

State League 4 – North

Keon Park’s AEK delivered a statement with a 3-1 away win over Heidelberg Stars. The “Two-Headed Eagle” will carry that momentum into a spicy Greek-flavoured derby against Darebin United’s Apollon this week.

Apollon head into the clash with decent morale after a 2-2 draw away at Moonee Valley Knights.

West Preston were electric last weekend, dismantling Moreland United 2-0 on their own turf. The “Greens” will look to keep the good times rolling when they face Heidelberg Stars away.
