Eden, who was diagnosed with leukemia at just 18 months old, became one of the first children in Australia to receive the new Spider-Man Supertee during a visit to Disney Studios in Sydney this week.

The visit coincided with the launch of the latest addition to the Supertee: Marvel Edition range – a Spider-Man-themed medical garment designed to support and empower hospitalised children.

Developed by the Greek Australian led Fair Fight Foundation, in partnership with The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand, the shirt follows earlier designs inspired by Captain America and Captain Marvel and was launched today to mark Spider-Man Day.

The initiative was founded by Jason Sotiris after his daughter was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening cancer.

Sotiris is excited for the expansion as it gives kids another chance to connect with a hero.

“The new Spider-Man design gives more children the opportunity to connect with a familiar and much-loved character who represents strength, conviction, and bravery,” he said in a media release sent to Neos Kosmos.

“More than 35,000 Supertees have helped brave children gain additional courage in more than 100 hospitals around Australia, at no cost to families.

“This has been an incredible effort, and I’m so proud of our team, volunteers and those who have supported us, and we are inspired to keep going.”

He added that their goal is to help 100,000 children in hospital by 2028.

The Walt Disney Company ANZ’s Kylie Watson-Wheeler said the design taps into children’s connection to Spider-Man and aims to provide inspiration and comfort during hospital stays.

Supertee: Marvel Edition ‘Spider-Man’ will be distributed to hospitals nationwide.
