AEK has secured its place into the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League after holding on for a goalless draw against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, setting up a meeting with Aris Limassol in the next round.

Enosi recorded a 0-0 stalemate in the second leg played in Hungary on Friday morning (AEST) to take out the tie 1-0 on aggregate.

The Athenian side sealed its place into the next round of qualifying where they will face Aris Limassol, who earned a 0-2 away success over Puskas to win 5-2 on aggregate.

The Cypriot side scored twice near the death via Giorgi Kvilitaia (77′) and Andronikos Kakoulis (78′) to guarantee their qualification and set up the mouthwatering Greece vs Cyprus clash in the third qualifying round.

Greece’s Aris could not match their Cypriot counterparts as they succumbed to a 4-3 loss on aggregate following a 2-2 home draw with Araz Naxcivan, crashing out of Europe in the process.

The Azerbaijani club took a two-goal lead into the break with goals from Charles Boli (11′) and Felipe Santos (pen. 38′), though a straight red to Igor Ribeiro opened up the game.

The Thessaloniki side managed to level the game with strikes from Fabiano (62′) and Monchu (90′), but it proved too little too late.

Omonia recorded a 0-4 away drubbing against Torpedo Kutaisi to confirm their place in the next round.

The Cypriot side owed the win to braces from Stevan Jovetic (30′, 63′) and Willy Semedo (47′, 78′), giving them a 5-0 win on aggregate.

They will now face Araz Naxcivan in the next qualifying round with the aim of faring better than Aris.

AEK Larnaca took a positive step forward in guaranteeing European football after defeating NK Celje 2-1 at home in their Europa League tie to advance 3-2 on aggregate.

The Larnaca side stormed into a two-goal lead, both in the game and on aggregate, with strikes from Yerson Chacon (42′) and Angel Garcia (67′).

The Serbian club added drama to the contest when they found a goal in the 88th minute via Mario Kvesic, but the hosts managed to cling on and seal their berth in the next round.

They will now take on Poland’s Legia Warsaw which, should they win, would guarantee they play in the League Phase of a European competition this season.
