PRONIA has marked Aged Care Employee Day 2025 that falls on 7 August, by celebrating the invaluable work of its aged care staff who provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to older Greek Australians across Melbourne.
PRONIA’s leadership shared personal messages of appreciation and gifts with staff, while encouraging the wider community to join the celebration by posting their own tributes using the hashtag #ThanksForCaring in honour of the more than 360,000 professionals working across Australia’s aged care sector.
“Today is about celebrating not only what they do, but how they do it with empathy, cultural understanding and unwavering dedication to our elders and their families,” said PRONIA CEO Sylvia Hadjiantoniou.
“At PRONIA, we see every day how our aged care teams go above and beyond to provide high-quality, respectful care.”
The hashtag acknowledges the care, skill and commitment of those who support older Australians at home, in community centres, and behind the scenes.
At PRONIA, the day was an opportunity to reflect on the essential role its centre-based and home-based community care teams play in promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing for Greek-speaking elders.
