The Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament has been shortened to a one-day event in Sydney after the cancellation of the Monday night games.
The organisers revealed the announcement on Saturday (16 August) which confirmed the decision, owing to unforeseen circumstances related to an earlier start date for the EuroLeague season, which is now 30 September.
The EuroLeague season starts eight days after what would have been the Monday night (22 September).
The Tournament will still take place in Sydney on the Sunday, which will feature the games KK Partizan-Sydney Kings and Panathinaikos BC-Adelaide 36ers.
The organisers confirmed that purchased tickets for the Monday can either be refunded or transferred to the Sunday.
“We know how much fans look forward to these moments, so we regret any disappointment this may cause,” said the National Basketball League (who is co-organising with Panathinaikos) in their statement.
