Jenny Kaimakamis, marketer for Oakleigh Greek Orthodox Grammar School, lost her father, Christos Spetalas, recently.

She wrote to Neos Kosmos to express her love and pride for him, saying he was a man “that lived and loved life to the fullest, no matter the hurdle he would respond with ‘Don’t worry, be happy.'”

South Melbourne FC ‘Hellas’ also paid tribute to the late Spetalas as one of the club’s “biggest supporters.”

“The clouds opened up at Lakeside Stadium, South Melbourne Hellas FC, to honour a wonderful, kind-hearted, beautiful man,” wrote Kaimakamis.

Spetalas received a standing ovation, followed by a one-minute silence.

“What an honour!” Kaimakamis added.

“His beautiful grandchildren stood proud to watch their beloved grandfather on the big screen at the club.”

“We were blessed with this wonderful father and grandfather, and his legacy will live on in all of us forever,” she added.
