Faye Spiteri-Tsolakis OAM, Chief Executive Officer of Fronditha Care, has received the prestigious Leadership Award from the national peak body Ageing Australia.

The announcement coincided with the National Aged Care Workers’ Day, while the award itself was formally presented during Fronditha Care’s Bounty of Care Awards ceremony. The honour recognises Spiteri’s vision, leadership and significant contribution to the aged care sector, particularly in the four years since she assumed the role of CEO.

The award was presented by Ageing Australia CEO Tom Symondson, who praised Spiteri for her values-driven leadership.

“We have more than 11,000 members and received over 500 nominations for these awards,” Symondson said.

“This recognition proves that even in a sector facing ongoing challenges, passion and a drive to make a difference will always stand out. That is what we saw in Faye Spiteri, and why she was chosen as this year’s recipient.”

In her acceptance speech, Spiteri expressed her deep gratitude and emotion at being recognised at a national level.

“I feel deeply honoured and moved by this recognition from Ageing Australia,” she said.

“My journey is inseparable from the values and sacrifices of my parents and grandparents, who taught me early on that strength, resilience and hope are needed to achieve your goals. For me, leadership means responsibility, purpose and compassion – it is not simply a title. It is about making an impact through your actions, giving others the space to grow, and remaining true to what matters most: providing the best possible care for our elderly.”

She dedicated the award to her colleagues, acknowledging the collective effort behind Fronditha Care’s work.

“I share this award with our incredible team of more than 1,000 employees, our Board, mentors, our community, and above all, my family, who support me every step of the way.”
