In a stunning upset at the Winston-Salem Open, top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas lost his opening match 6–3, 6–2 to China’s Buyunchaokete Bu.

The Greek, ranked No. 28 in the world, struggled to find answers on court as Bu’s relentless firepower exposed weaknesses throughout the match.

The defeat marks Tsitsipas’ fifth loss in his last six matches, highlighting a troubling dip in form.

He came into Winston-Salem hoping to rebuild momentum ahead of the US Open.

He had entered the tournament via wild card, marking his debut appearance at this ATP 250 event.

Earlier in the year, Tsitsipas had shown signs of a resurgence, winning his 12th tour-level title — and his first ATP 500 trophy — at the Dubai Tennis Championships with a commanding 6–3, 6–3 victory over Félix Auger-Aliassime, but since then has struggled.
