Stefanos Tsitsipas has overcome a slow start to win his opening match at the US Open against Alexandre Müller 4-6, 6-0, 6-1, 7(7)-6(5).

After Müller broke the Greek (just his first of two for the match) to win the first set, Tsitsipas put on a commanding effort to turn things around.

The 27-year-old dropped just one game over the next two sets to bring the match back in his favour.

The third set specifically was a serving masterclass that saw him win 14 consecutive points on serve.

And despite the Frenchman responding in the fourth to claw back, Tsitsipas held on to close out the match.

Tsitspas, 26th seed, was on point with his serves, with 16 aces to his opponents four, and winning 87 per cent of his first serves.

Now through to the second round, Tsitsipas will be looking to reach the third round at the US Open for the first time since 2021.
