The annual Greek Orthodox Community of NSW (GOC) Kids Taverna Night was held on last Friday 29 August at the Greek Community Club in Lakemba, with proceeds supporting the GOC Afternoon and Saturday Schools.

In a media release, the GOC said it was “a resounding success, bringing together families, friends, and community members for an unforgettable celebration of Greek culture”.

“Guests praised the GOC for its ongoing efforts to give back to the community, noting how events like these strengthen bonds across generations while preserving and celebrating our heritage, language, and culture,” the organisation said.

“This success creates a ripple effect that inspires and enriches generations to come.”

“It supports the cultural value that we instil in the students and supports the preservation of Greek language, heritage, traditions, and obviously education.” – Artemis Theodoris, President of the Sub-Committee of the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW Afternoon & Saturday Schools. Photo: Supplied

The funds raised will contribute to maintaining the Greek Language Program for current and future generations.
