Canterbury Bankstown FC reflected on their 2025 season at their Presentation Awards Dinner, honouring the efforts of the players and staff during their campaign in the NSW State League One Men’s Competition.
The Berries held the awards dinner on Wednesday 10 September at Campsie South Bowling Club Clemton Park, which was packed with its footballers, club officials as well as friends and families all celebrating the season just passed.
The Berries finished 11th in the competition with 34 points, their biggest setback being their high number of 13 draws (the most of any team in the league).
Club President Stan Seraskeris and long serving Board member, Angelo Hronopoulos, thanked the players and coaches for their efforts in the campaign, while Head Coach and ex-Socceroo Wally Savor noted he was “pleased with the overall performance of the players this season”.

Savor thanked the departing and retiring players for their dedication and commitment to the club, while signalling his belief the nucleus of the 2025 squad will return and deliver another campaign in 2026.
Special awards were presented to the players who have played over 50 games for the Berries, including veteran and vice-captain Patrick Savor, Gian Fiorese, Finn Hayhurst and Joel Beattie.
Hayhurst won the Player’s Player Award for Best Player of the season, while John Fotopoulos earned the honour of Coach’s Award for Most Improved Player.
John thanked Savor, the coaching staff and the Board for providing him the chance to play First Grade football, saying:
“Wally gave me a chance to start every match for the Blue and Golds this season in the left wing-back role, where I had the opportunity to play the most minutes of any player in the squad.”
The club expressed enthusiasm for their overall work and optimism to go on for an even better season next year.
