The Faros Greek Club in Mt Waverley has celebrated its 20th anniversary with a special event attended by members, community leaders and local representatives.

Founder Rev Steven Kasambalis addressed the gathering, thanking members and guests for their support over two decades.

Federal MP for Chisholm Dr Carina Garland, Victorian MP Matt Fregon and Monash Mayor Paul Klisaris joined the celebrations. The officials presented volunteers with certificates of recognition and announced a list of honorary members.

A presentation of photographs highlighted key moments from the club’s history, including a tribute to those who have departed. The ceremony also featured a symbolic lighting of torches, representing themes of love, compassion, tolerance, belonging and peace.

Entertainment was provided by the Manasis Dance Group, who performed traditional dances from across Greece.

The event concluded with thanks to the Faros board, members and supporters for contributing to what organisers described as a successful milestone celebration.
