The president of the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia (HMSA), Dr Marinis Pyrpiris, expressed his great satisfaction with the impressive turnout and generosity shown by attendees at the annual Charity Gala Ball 2025, held on Saturday 11 October at Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Greek Community of Melbourne, once again confirming the spirit of unity and social contribution amongst community organisations.

The evening’s purpose was to support Agapi Care, the non-profit organisation working to promote social inclusion and provide support for people with disabilities.

Agapi Care was established by Greek Australian parents who deeply believed that every child, regardless of disability, deserves equal access to programs and services. Today, it operates nationally, offering comprehensive care that fosters independence, self-determination and active participation in society.

“Supporting organisations like Agapi Care means investing in the dignity and potential of every person,” Dr Pyrpiris emphasised, moved by the community’s generosity.

The evening featured fine dining, auctions and live music, in an atmosphere filled with joy and solidarity. The final amount raised will be announced in the coming days, but the message of the night was already clear: Melbourne’s Greek community continues to give practical support to those in need.
