It is the second of 302 rare limited edition model built by Holden and it is set to break all records when it goes auction on Saturday.

The car, a Holden HSV VN SS Group A with 36.000km on the clock is a highly sought-after car. It represents the last of the Group A series.

Under Group A rules required a manufacturer to to build 500 vehicles of a specific make. In the case of VN SS Group A, only 302 units were made and the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) granted an exemption to the carmaker allowing the cars to compete in the 1991 and 1992 Group A championships.

“This iconic car is a timepiece in Australian motor sporting history, and serious enthusiasts will need to be verified prior to bidding due to the important significance of this car,” said Lee Hames, the chief operating officer of Lloyds Auctions which will be conducting the sale of the car on Saturday.

“We auctioned the same model back in April, which broke an Australian World Record price, and we believe this one being build #002 might just break it again based on the amount of enquiry we have had already,” Mr Hames said.
