Fronditha is celebrating the Olympic Games in its own way.
The nursing homes were filled with photographs of Olympia, paper medals and Olympic symbols so that residents could feel the spirit of the Tokyo Olympics without needing to be there.
At Thornbury, the ritual of the lighting of the Flame was revived, and the spirit of competition was also brought ot life as residents were split up into teams representing Greece and Australia.
In an event filled with enthusiasm and pride, residents took part in activities which emphasised sportsmanship as well as Greek history and tradition.
