A 17-year-old Greek Australian Melbourne boy, who was filmed earlier this week while jumping from a moving train for a prank, has found himself at the centre of media and police attention as his video went viral on Facebook.

James Lambrou was filmed by friends jumping onto the platform at Watergardens station on Wednesday while the train was still moving at about 40 km/h.
He crashed to the ground, miraculously, narrowly avoiding hitting his head on the platform.

Police are investigating the incident, after they were notified when the video spread through social media, with more than 20,000 likes before it was deleted by the teenager from his Facebook page.

Metro and the Rail, Tram and Bus Union have condemned the boy’s ‘idiotic behaviour’, saying it endangered other passengers as well as himself and distressed Metro staff.

“I thought it was cool at that time, but now [I think it is] stupid and ridiculous.

“Don’t put stupid things on Facebook as it goes viral there. I would say don’t do it because you could probably do worse than me and die,” teenager James Lambrou told media. He also said he was pressured by his friends to jump off the train.
