The Brisbane Paniyiri is set to celebrate its 38th year, with a bigger and better line up of entertainment, food and party kefi.

The weekend paniyiri, organised by the Greek Orthodox Community of St George, Brisbane, will be held next weekend at Musgrave Park, but events in the Queensland capital have already begun, with the 73rd anniversary of the Battle of Crete dance tonight at the Greek Club.

Dance groups from all over Australia will take to the main stage both Saturday and Sunday next week, as well as a plate smashing competition, olive eating competition and many other delights, such as how to make loukoumathes. There will be a plethora of celebrities attending including Vikki and Helena, the ‘twinning’ Greek twins from this year’s series of My Kitchen Rules, as well as cooking demonstrations from prominent Greek Australian chefs. Events will also be run simultaneously at The Greek Club, with a photographic display entitled El Greco, and of course, Sunday night’s after party kicking off at 8.00 pm.
Neos Kosmos will also be present at the Paniyiri with Claire Gazis there to answer all your questions about our newspaper.
