More than 50 people attended the book launch Antigone Kefala: a writer’s journey in Melbourne last Tuesday night.

An anthology of analytical and critical writing, reviews and essays, the book details Antigone’s early work as a migrant living in Australia, and how her writing has impacted on the Australian literature of then and now.

Publisher Helen Nickas spoke of her time working with Antigone, from the early years right to the publication of this work. Professor of Greek Studies at the University of Sydney, Vrasidas Karalis, discussed the impact her writing has had on the world of Australian literature, and distinguished Australian poet Judith Rodriguez officially launched the book with a tale of the early years of migrant poetry.
