More than 1,000 music lovers attended the Greek Project at the Melbourne Town Hall last Sunday – 90 minutes of fusion of jazz with traditional Greek folk songs, Mikis Theodorakis ballads and Charles Lloyd compositions.
Maria Farantouri, together with legendary American jazz musician and composer Charles Lloyd and their band left all those who attended the concert feeling uplifted and inspired, as Melbourne’s The Age review put it.
The Greek Project, presented in Melbourne by the International Jazz Festival and the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture, was also enjoyed by Sydney audiences at the Recital Hall on Wednesday night.
