A growing proportion of Greeks are using the Internet as their preferred source of news and information but the Web still has a long way to go before it can match TV, according to a nationwide survey carried out by the University of the Aegean.

Television is the main source of news with 78.1 percent stating that television is their main source of news.

Forty one percent  said they turn to newspapers for news coverage with 35 percent to the internet and 32 percent to radio.

Also most felt that public channels are more reliable than private ones.
