A well respected Greek Australian journalist, Kostas Alexiadis, born in Kalambaka, Thessalia, Greece in 1947 passed away this week.

Alexiadis migrated to Australia in the early 1970’s, where he fulfilled his journalistic dreams by opening the Saturday morning Greek-Australian newspaper ELLADA, which later became NEA ELLADA and is now the bilingual weekend edition NEOS KOSMOS. He moved around throughout the media in Melbourne, working on 3EA Radio (SBS) and Television, at NEOS KOSMOS, ELLINIKOS KYRIKAS edited ENIMEROSI and later his own magazine SKEPSIS, which was his last journalistic passion in Australian in the early 1990’s.

He was also a playwright of predominantly Greek plays, exploring the pain of migration and leaving behind the mother land. In the last 22 years Kostas Alexiadis was living and working in Kalambaka Greece.
