Perth hosted the first of a series of Invest in Greece seminars being organised across Australia by the Greek Embassy in Canberra and the Investment Promotion Agency of Greece.

The seminar was attended by 80 people from the Western Australian business community, state and local officials.

The seminar attracted a lot of interest as this was the first time that officials from Invest in Greece are visiting Australia.

As the Greek Ambassador, Alexios Christopoulos pointed out in his message:, “The decision to start from Perth is particularly symbolic and relates to the fact that both Greece and Western Australia are indeed the first stops, and as such the gates into each other’s continents of Europe and Australasia respectively.”

Speakers included Constantinos Angelopoulos and Harry Amilidis who spoke of the investment opportunities available to Australian companies in the Financial Services, Tourism, Renewable Energy and IT sectors in Greece.

At the Perth seminar representatives of Greek Australian business organisations were present as well as Australian Energy, Waste Management, and Logistics companies.

Invest in Greece seminars are taking place in Sydney today at the NSW Trade and Investment Centre and Melbourne on December 9, at the Melbourne Observation Deck Rialto.
