Orianthi continues to take Australia and the world by storm after debuting on the Aria charts in the top 10 last week.

The young 24-year-old Greek Australian guitarist and singer has only been in the biz for a short while, but she is truly making her mark.

Even at such a ripe age, the artist has experienced what most aspiring musicians can only dream of.

She has opened for Carrie Underwood, traded solos with Carlos Santana and even shared the stage with the King of Pop himself, the late Michael Jackson.

Prior to receiving a personal phone call from Michael Jackson to join his This is it tour, Orianthi had actually planned to focus all her attention on her upcoming album.
The record sees Orianthi playing a heavy role in production from all corners; singing, writing and leading the band.

The young artist most definitely packs a modern girl-power punch; think Avril Lavigne and Paramore, but all rolled into the one little package.

Growing up in the 1980s, Orianthi began listening to Van Halen and Def Leppard.

Her father used to play the guitar in a Greek band and would often leave instruments lying around the house. It did not take long for Orianthi to pick one up and marry her adoration for music with physical performance.

Mastering the six-string came naturally to her: “When I was 11, Carlos Santana came to play in Adelaide and that show really affected me. I begged my dad to get me a second hand electric guitar so I could be like Carlos, and that was it, no more acoustic.”

Orianthi performed at the Grammy Awards this year and people began to talk.

Her performance prompted Michael Jackson to call her with an offer to play guitar for his London shows of the This is it tour.

This offer secured the guitar prodigy a place in one of the most prestigious lines of guitar players including Eddia Van Halen, Santana, Slash and Larry Carlton.

Her new single According to you is at number eight on our local charts this week, and it seems the only way is up for the starlet.

The same single made it as Single of the Week on iTunes on October..
