The Wheeler Centre is fast approaching its fifth birthday, and as part of the celebrations, will be presenting a debate about the future – your future.

Hosted by writer and broadcaster Annabel Crabb, the audience will be subject to a debate with one panel of five prominent thinkers presenting a well thought out and balanced argument of two sides.

The central question that they will be tackling is: ‘Where will we be as a society in five years’ time? Should we feel hopeful, or should we feel despair?’

After hearing the public debate, the audience will be called upon to vote whether they feel positive or negative about the future, and a final tally will be announced.

Speakers taking part in the night’s events come from diverse backgrounds and include the likes of feminist author Eva Cox, Robogals founder and former Young Australian of the Year Marita Cheng, political journalist and author George Megalogenis, Tasmanian Department of Justice secretary Simon Overland and medical anthropologist Gregory Phillips.
