George Kapiniaris will headline Canberra’s Greek Glendi this weekend, joining in the festivities on Sunday 15 February.

The Greek Australian comedian will host the glendi, sharing his own comedy stylings while celebrating all the things that makes the community proud to be Greek.

There will be live performances from Canberra’s Hellenic dancers, the famous Greek magician Sankara, and live Greek bands from Sydney.

Festivalgoers can get into the spirit by competing in the loukoumades eating competition, the dance competition and the plate breaking competition, with lots of prizes on offer.

Alongside the huge program of live music and dance, the festival will have an abundance of food including lamb kontosouvli, calamari and lots of traditional Cypriot delicacies.

Festival organisers are also looking for more volunteers on the day to help the festival run as smoothly as possible. Those interested can contact Yiola Alexandrou on 0414 871 742.

The Canberra Greek Glendi is on Sunday 15 February, from noon to 5.00 pm at Garema Place.
