A Melbourne-based video producer and his ex-girlfriend, a suburban hairdresser and photographer, have pleaded guilty to counts of making and distributing child pornography.

Repeat sex offender, Adrian Xanthoulakis posted the indecent images on Kik, a free online mobile messaging service that lets users send texts, pictures and videos to one another without disclosing phone numbers or real names.

Pleading guilty to six counts, Xanthoulakis confessed to having encouraged Vanessa Blazevski to commit the indecent acts.
Blazevski, who lives in Williamstown in Melbourne’s west, is well known amongst locals, also pleaded guilty last week to four counts, which included producing child pornography and the sexual penetration of a minor.

According to reports, Xanthoulakis attempted to destroy the evidence, but detectives were onto him well before, sparking a change in police methodology with regards to cloud computing and data storage.

Although Xanthoulakis’s lawyers tried to keep his previous offences from the public’s knowledge, Magistrate Andrew Capel disagreed, declaring that it was right that people know.

Xanthoulakis and Blazevski are expected to appear in the Victorian County Court in August.
