Iron Mike Zambidis beat South African Champion Warren Stevelmans last weekend for the 19th edition of Kick Boxing Superstar in Milan, by the judges’ unanimous decision.

Both athletes began very aggressively, exchanging punches, low kicks and knees.
In the second round both fighters continued picking up the pace.

Stevelmans tried to pass a knee to Zambidis but Iron Mike blocked it and countered back with a clean right hook, giving Stevelmans a knock down (8-counted).

On the final round, Stevelmans had to attack more in order to reverse the situation, but Zambidis kept blocking and countering.

During an intense exchange Iron Mike found an opening and managed to pass another clean punch that put Stevelmans to the ropes.

Zambidis kept the pressure on and the fight was over.

The judges announced Iron Mike as the winner, with a 3-0 decision and the crowd was cheering for the Greek Champion, who was also celebrating his victory with his team; his trainer Vaggellis Apostolou and his gymnast Alexandros Papadionisiou.

On his arrival in Athens, Zambidis said: “It was an exciting fight for me and the audience inside the sold-out stadium.

I am glad that my training schedule is once again paying off.

I continue my preparation for the next big and important fights that are coming really soon. In the next few days I will also announce the opening of “Zambidis Club”.
This was the 142nd victory for Iron Mike, in 159 fights.
