The level of crime in Greece has gotten “much worse” over the last 12 months, according to an opinion poll.

The Public Issue survey, carried out last week, indicated that 72 percent think there has been a significant deterioration, 16 percent believe things have gotten a “little worse” and nine percent are of the view that there has been no change.

Almost four in 10 believe that the quality of policing has also worsened considerably during the last year.

Six in 10 respondents said that they have little or no faith in the government’s ability to take on rising crime
