A Greek computer programmer who was found to be hacking into Photobucket is now an official employee of the company.

Twenty-seven-year-old Athanasios ‘Thaos’ Andrianakis and his accomplice Brandon Bourret were found to have pirated thousands of nude images that were being stored on the photo-sharing service’s software.

According to the Denver Post, Bourret has been sentenced to 29 months in prison, while Photobucket will take advantage of Andrianakis’ knowledge.

Aware of the company’s online weaknesses, the programmer will assist with the writing and development of software that will seek out and expose any child pornographers using the service.

He will work as an unpaid intern for a minimum of 15 months to pay off $90,000 worth of compensation.

The reason for the different legal sentences is that the case for each defendant were different: Andrianakis played a technical role that focused and exploited Photobucket’s weaknesses, while Bourret contacted victims requesting monetary remuneration to remove their images from a public forum.
