Olympiakos are once again proving that they know what it takes to win titles, after defeating Kerkyra in an away game, taking the club one step closer to winning its seventh consecutive Superleague title.

The 2-0 victory was made possible on Wednesday thanks to goals by Costas Fortounis and Marko Marin, and with Panathinaikos’ knocking Panionios from its second place to make way for PAOK, the Reds now have an eight-point lead.

PAOK was also successful in Peristeri, the Thessaloniki team winning 2-0 over Atromitos with goals scored by Diego Biseswar and Efthymis Koulouris.
The Greens’ 1-0 win against Panionios on Thursday was a controversial one based on a penalty decision, which saw Marcus Berg come through with the goods in his 21st goal for the season.

AEK fans were pleased with the team’s performance on Thursday with a 2-0 win at Platanias Hanion, when Vinicius and Christos Aravidis scored for the Yellows seeing them placed in fifth position and two points above Xanthi.

Xanthi had a victory of its own against Panetolikos on Wednesday, with a 3-0 win, taking the club five points ahead of Platanias.

Iraklis had a home win 1-0 against Levadiakos, which saw the team level in points, but the coming weeks will only see one avoid the drop.

Meanwhile, though still uncertain whether bottom of the ladder Veria will be participating in next season’s Superleague, the team managed to go one better against PAS Giannina with a 3-0 win on Wednesday.

Asteras Tripolis also won this round, beating Larissa 4-1 away.

While Olympiakos are believed to have cemented their spot at the top, PAOK only have one point difference with Panathinaikos and Panionios, and will battle to keep its position against the Greens on Sunday.
