Set in a moonlit pool on the rooftop of the iconic Rose Chong’s Costumiers in Fitzroy, Tamzen Hayes and Apple Pie Productions’ presentation of Metamorphoses captures the conspicuous analogy of change through the water’s form.

This contemporary take of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning play by Mary Zimmerman, is brought to life by a collection of Melbourne’s most exciting and upcoming creatives.

Based around tales of Greek mythology, this is a story of love and loss; pleasure and pain; identity and opposites; informed, and critiqued, by visitations from Aphrodite, Zeus, Poseidon, and more.

Metamorphoses is a story of antiquity, told in vignettes, of the adaptation of humankind and how one deals with the only thing that remains constant in this world – change.

How do humans adapt to change? What are the innate challenges we battle in the face of change?

Metamorphoses features multi-award winning talent – showcasing burlesque performers, musicians, actors, dancers, and circus artists, including Mama Alto and Miss Burlesque Australia finalist Becky Lou teaching us that art transcends suffering.
