Former Brunswick City Football Club player, George Mells, has been signed by Chelsea Football club this week, an inside source told Neos Kosmos today.

The young player, said to be 13 years of age, played for Brunswick City Football Club before moving to Altona City Football Club and playing for various other teams across Melbourne.

Asked about his former player’s success, President of Brunswick City Football Club, George Koutoulis, said it is not entirely unusual for a player to be signed by an English premiere league at such a young age. Mr Koutoulis described George as a keen player, who was always extremely focused on his training and on improving his skills on the field.

George is not the first ex Brunswick City Football Club player to be signed by an international club. Theodore Markelis, who also started out at the club, was signed by Spanish team Valencia in 2007. Markelis, now 18, plays in Italy’s serie B for Vicenza Calcio.
