We in Australia might be breaking out the sunscreen and thongs at the first glimpse of sun here in Oz, but the exact opposite is happening in the northern hemisphere.

All over Greece, revellers are packing away their beach towels and starting to rug up because winter is just around the corner.

What does winter mean to adoring Greek music fans?

It means alcohol, warm food, the sheer indulgence of going to the bouzoukia: it means live music and plenty of it.

So, what exactly is in store for those heading over to Greece for the chillier winter months?

Obviously no island-hopping is on the cards, but not to worry, there is more than enough happening on the mainland.

To kick things off, Helena Paparizou is teaming up with the adorable Antonis Remos for duet shows in Athens at Diogenis Studio.

Heartthrob Kostas Martakis is also promised to be appearing around town, as will Natasa Theodoridou.

Peggy Zena and Dimitris Mitropanos have a residency at Iera Odos in Athens, and pop group Melisses will be accompanying Yiannis Ploutarhos at Cosmos Nightclub.

Aside from these awesome gigs, easily the most anticipated show is being held at the Athenon Arena where Sakis Rouvas and Anna Vissi will perform live together for the first time in years.

If you are heading north for the winter, be sure to keep up to date with the latest performances in Neos Kosmos in the coming weeks.
