Greek parents spend a total of almost 450 million euros on private tuition schools to prepare their teenage children for university entrance exams, according to figures made public last week.
Research by the Greek Labour Academy and the Confederation of Greek Labor indicates that the average Greek family will spend 7,250 euros over two years so that their child can get intensive tuition to pass their university entrance exams, the first (and second time) candidates attempt the university exam.
