Australia coach Jan Versleijen has revenge on his mind after a goalless draw with Korea Republic on Friday set-up an AFC U-19 Championship quarter-final showdown with defending champions the UAE.

Both sides had already secured their passage to the last eight and consequently used their final Group D game as a chance to give other members of the squad the chance to impress.

Consequently chances were few and far between and the point means Australia finish top of the standings while Korea Republic take second.

Australia were denied a place in the final of the AFC U-19 Championship two years ago by the UAE, who eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory before going on to win the tournament and Versleijen is determined to avenge that defeat when the two sides meet again on Monday.

“We know we are going to play UAE in the quarter-finals and this is a chance for us to get revenge because we played them in the semi-finals of the tournament in Saudi Arabia two years ago and lost,” said the Dutchman.

“I know they are a good team and they are previous AFC U-19 Championship winners. They have a lot of good players.

“But we are full of confidence. We have a good team and we changed a lot of players today and showed we have strength throughout the team and that is important.”

Australia’s quarter final match will be played tonight (Monday 11 October) against United Arab Emirates.

The semi-finals of the AFC U-19 Championship will be held on Thursday 14 October, with the Final to be played on Sunday 17 October.

The top four nations from the AFC U-19 Championship will win a coveted place in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup which will be held in Colombia next July/August.
