Popular Greek singer Nikos Vertis is touring Australia for three shows only in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.

Born in Holland, Vertis has been playing the bouzouki since he was seven and began singing at the age of 15 in small music halls in Thessaloniki and other regions of Macedonia. In 2003, his popularity rose with successful performances at Rodon music hall. In February of that year he released his first album, Poli Apotoma Vradiazei, and the singles off this album became huge hits.

He toured Athens in 2003 and 2004 and worked with Peggy Zina at the Apollon music hall. They released two duets, ‘Eimaste Xwria’ and ‘Hanomasta’, which immediately became radio hits. Vertis has won two Arion music awards for Best New Singer (2003) and Best Popular Singer (2004). He has gone on to release another four studio albums with the fifth album Ola Einai Edo going four-times platinum.

He is undoubtedly one of the most talented singers to come out of the Greek music scene. Elefthiria Eleftheriou will be supporting Vertis on his national tour.
