The charity zo-ee, a committee of volunteers dedicated to raising awareness and funds for research into Motor Neurone Disease, raised $50,000 for the charity at their annual MotorOn event held at Alto, Saturday 2 April.

“We had 350 people in attendance. It was fantastic, a great night, the entertainment was brilliant. Every one was dancing and it was a really happy event,” explained zo-ee founder Karen Mustica.

“There was a Tina Turner impersonator there as well.” All in all – through sponsorship, ticket prices, silent auction and loud auction – the charity raised a total of $50,000 from the event. The money raised will go to the zo-ee grant.

“We have a grant called the zo-ee grant and that money is allocated to research projects in Australia researching the science behind motor neurone disease and looking for a cure,” Ms Mustica said.
