Mihalis Hatzigiannis, one of the most successful singer-songwriters on the Greek music scene, is set to tour Australia in June, with shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

The last time he appeared in Australia was in 2009.

With a number of double-platinum and triple-platinum albums to his name, he has appeared live with legendary singers, including Haris Alexiou, Glykeria, Antonis Remos, George Dalaras, Natasa Theodoridou and Paschalis Terzis, to great reviews.

He has received a slew of awards, including the Greek Arion Award for Best Male Performer of the Year.

Hatzigiannis was born in Nicosia, Cyprus and graduated from the Cyprus Music Academy (Royal College of London) with a degree in piano, guitar and music theory. He first became a household name when representing Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998.

After shooting to stardom with multiple platinum records and sold-out performances, he sang at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. In 2010, Forbes listed Hatzigiannis as the 22nd most powerful and influential celebrity in Greece and fifth highest ranked singer.

The 2011 Australian tour dates are: June 10 and 11 in Melbourne, June 12 in Adelaide, June 17 in Brisbane and a final show in Sydney on June 18.
