The Pontian Greek Brotherhood of St George is inviting everyone to attend the Xenophontia 2011 event taking place from June 10 to 12 in Perth.

Xenophontia, a word that derives from the ancient Greek historian Xenophon, is a cultural and historical event that is happening for the first time, where Pontian Greeks from all over the world will gather to celebrate the remembrance of the epic march of their ancestors from Babylon to the Black Sea in 399 BC.

Highlights of the event are the revival of the ancient pirixios and geranos dances that have been preserved and practiced in their original form for almost 2500 years on Sunday 12 June at 12.00 pm at Kings Park.

The event will be attended by Pontian Greeks from all over Australia along with all the major Pontian Greek Federations of Australia, and special guests from Greece and political dignitaries. For more details contact Tatiani Schiavino on 0401869734 or Chris Orkopoulos on 0419909771.
