The Greek Film Festival returns this spring to cinemas all over Australia. Now in it’s 18th year, the festival aims to deliver quality Greek films to Australian audiences.

This year sees one of the strongest festival programs to date with internationally acclaimed dramas, comedies and documentaries on offer.

Three classics showcasing the late and great auteur Michael Cacoyannis will also be included: My Life and Times: Michael Cacoyannis; Stella and A Girl in Black. Launching the fortnight of Greek film is one of Greece’s best loved comedies Need for Lies. Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Attenburg, which was the Greek Film Academy’s nomination for foreign language Oscar will also be screened.

The 2011 Greek Film Festival will appear in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, with tickets to the Melbourne and Sydney festival on sale now.
