After taking a year off, the Adelaide Glendi Greek Festival is back with a full program to showcase the best in Greek culture, cooking, eating and entertainment. The weekend will be a celebration of food, art, education, music and dance.

Everyone’s favourite Greek comedian George Kapiniaris will be the festival MC, and singer Vasilis Kostoulas from Greece and klarino player Aggelos Stathopoulos will provide non-stop Greek entertainment supported by the Glendi super band. Local Greek band Oneiro will be entertaining the crowd on Saturday night while infamous Adelaide Greek band Zues will be closing the festival on the Sunday night.

Competitions will run throughout the day for all to get involved in, with loukoumatha eating competitions and plate smashing competitions. And a variety of DJs and dance groups keeping the kefi going all day long.

The Glendi Greek Festival dates back to 1978 and has historically been regarded as the premier festival of its type attracting up to 40,000 visitors over the two days. It is a nationally and internationally acclaimed multicultural event.

Glendi is a family oriented event which has built a strong reputation within the broader Adelaide and South Australian community and is one the most attended multicultural festivals in Australia.

The Adelaide Greek Glendi Festival will take place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October at the Adelaide Showgrounds.
