A 5.7-magnitude earthquake in eastern Turkey killed at least three people, creating new fears in a rural area still reeling from a quake last month.

Buildings toppled in the provincial capital of Van last Wednesday night, however most were already damaged and declared unfit because they were weakened by the previous earthquake.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said rescue teams are searching for more survivors and 22 of the 25 collapsed buildings in Van were empty. One of the buildings that collapsed was the 40-year-old Bayram Hotel, Van’s best-known hotel.

The earthquake measured 5.7 the US Geological Survey said.
