Melbourne University’s annual Classics Summer School is an opportunity for anyone to learn a little about the society, myths, art, architecture, literature and philosophy of the ancient world. Classes are small, relaxed and fun. The courses are taught by university staff, using university facilities, and are open to anyone. Participants typically include members of the general public, high school teachers, professionals and secondary/tertiary students. This summer, four courses will be offered:

Cities of the Greek and Roman world

Aristotle’s human flourishing project

Love and relationships in Ancient Greece

An introduction to classical mythology

All classes will take place at the University of Melbourne, Parkville, between 9 and 13 January 2012. More details, including an enrolment form, are available from www.classics-archaeology.unimelb.edu.au or e-mail Christopher Gribbin at cgribbin@unimelb.edu.au
