Two Greek Australians were appointed as members to the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT) and the Refugee Review Tribunal (RRT).

The appointments were announced on Wednesday by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Senator Chris Evans. Dione Dimitriadis and Kay Kirmos are amongst the 43 new appointees.

Dione Dimitriadis previously worked as a solicitor in private practice and as a legal officer in the Australian Legal Aid Office, the Public Solicitor’s Office and the Department of Consumer Affairs.

She was first appointed as a part-time member for the MRT in 2003 and for the RRT in 2005. She is now appointed as a full time member.

Kay Kirmos who was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1984 will be a part-time member of the Tribunals.
