Iconic Greek artist Pantelis Thalassinos is finally coming to Australia, playing a free show at the Melbourne Antipodes Festival and one show only in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre.
The Greek community of Australia has been trying for a number of years to have Thalassinos perform in Australia, but all attempts have been thwarted making this show well and truly long overdue.
Thalassinos has been performing since 1977 and has gained a reputation as a solid, quality performer. Has has one of the greatest male voices in contemporary Greek song and writes that lyrics that capture and identify with the landscape of the country. He has released six albums and is best known for his songs Ta Smirneika Tragoudia, Anatheme Se and Karavia Chiotika.
He will perform one show only in Sydney on Thursday 23 February with his live band at the Enmore Theatre and on the main stage at the Antipodes Festival in Melbourne on Saturday 25 February. For more information on the Sydney show, contact Enmore Theatre on (02) 9550 3660.
