Petrol prices in Australia are set to jump an extra 3 cents a litre in the next fortnight following a $5 rise in Singapore unleaded price.

Last week, the average price of unleaded petrol fell 2.7 c to 142.2c and the national weekly average metropolitcan price fell 3.9c to 140.9c. Australia’s fuel prices are dependant on the Singapore benchmark as it has the regional refining and distribution centre there.

While Adelaide had the cheapest unleaded petrol last week, prices fell in all major cities except Darwin and Hobart.
