Earlier this week Greater Western Sydney’s AFL veteran James McDonald was cited by the AFL tribunal and given a two match penalty after being charged with rough conduct. GWS Giants are not scheduled to play again until next week when they meet the Kangaroos.

Collingwood captain Nick Maxwell joined the Magpies’ long list of injured players that were unavailable for last nights round one MCG clash with Hawthorn and may even miss next week’s game as well. On the injured list for the Pies’ are: Brent Macaffer, Andrew Krakouer, Alan Didak, Ben Johnson, Chris Tarrant, and Nathan Brown with midfielder Sharrod Wellingham suspended by the club for drinking alcohol while injured and will not return until round three.

…And former AFL Brownlow medalist, Ben Cousins 33, is facing a possible four year jail term if convicted on a charge of possession and trafficking of methamphetamine with intent to sell or supply – 4.65 grams of the drug was discovered inside his body when he was arrested at Esperance Airport last Wednesday.
