A photo taken by an amateur photographer in Athens became viral, giving people a taste of after-hours life in the crisis-stricken city.
The photo, depicting an elderly man, holding a cat, first appeared on Facebook, at the profile of amateur photographer, Victoria Alex.
The caption mentions that it was taken at 3.34 am, at the X14 bus – linking Syntagma Square to the northern suburb of Kifissia. The name of the man is not mentioned, but Victoria Alex writes that he was born in June 1921, takes tablets to deal with a heart condition and takes notice on how the cat seems to share the same tired gaze as its owner.
So, far it has been shared dozens of times, most notably by PhotoVogue, responsible for making it viral.
